Who is GoldTracker for?

For anyone holding physical gold: bullion coins, bars, jewellery or scrap. Instead of adding up weights by hand, you see one number for your whole stack, updated at the current price.

What does GoldTracker cost?

The app is free and shows ads. Optional upgrades remove the ads, lift the limits on positions and alerts, or add the Ultimate extras. Google Play shows the current prices.

How does GoldTracker make money?

Through ads from Google AdMob in the free version and the optional upgrades. The ad SDK processes data on the device the way ads work everywhere; we do not sell your portfolio.

Where do the prices come from?

From our own endpoint, which takes the gold spot price in dollars from gold-api.com and converts it with exchange rates from open.er-api.com. It caches for 60 seconds, and the app asks for a new price every 60 seconds. Quotes are indicative, without warranty and not investment advice.

How do the price alerts reach me?

Three ways: with every price refresh while the app is open, through a background check roughly every 15 minutes, and through our push service, which fires even when the app is closed. Each alert reports once per crossing and arms again when the price moves back.

Does my portfolio leave the phone?

Your holdings are stored on your device, and there is no account. The app does talk to servers: for prices, for ads, for push alerts if you use them, and for a poster order.

Which devices are supported?

Android phones, including the home-screen widget. An iPhone version is in preparation. There is no web or desktop version.

Which languages does the app speak?

German and English. The app follows your phone’s language setting.
